A native of Dallas, Texas I am employed as a paralegal at the firm of Holmgren Johnson: Mitchell Madden, LLP located in Dallas, Texas which offers a broad range of legal services including general civil and complex business litigation.
I guide new and aspiring paralegals in the field on the various aspects of civil litigation including software for evidence presented in trials and arbitrations, mindset, and time management.
I am also a content creator. I coach and assist small business owners during the startup process. I write copy, design websites, create marketing materials, write business plans, and consult in aspects of business formation and development.
I love words, and I love stories but I had never seen myself as a writer. However, in 2018, I followed inspiration and self-published my first book, Don't Be Bitter. Then in 2022, I created NexLevel Magazine. The journey has been a tremendous rollercoaster but it has changed my life.
I believe in the power of stories and I believe that it is our duty to share the experiences and the lessons we have learned on our journeys with the world. I have had the privilege of meeting some amazing people on this writer's journey and in 2020 I was able to co-author an Amazon Best Seller with some amazing individuals.
This journey is just beginning and I am looking forward to the road God has for me as an author and writer.
I would like to tell you all a quick story about a little girl who was once so full of light, life, happiness, peace, and joy. One day a predator set his eyes on her and set out to destroy her light and steal all of her happiness and peace. He told her lies about herself, and she, unfortunately, believed him.
Until one day, God decided that it was time to free this little butterfly, and so he unlocked the prison doors and started me on a "hero’s journey." A journey to undo the lies that I vehemently taught myself to believe, a mission to heal the pain of all of the abuse I had endured, a quest to free me from the silent prison I erected, a journey to discover my true identity, and learn my voice.
Now my passion is sharing my journey and experiences with the world, with confidence that my journey will inspire hope in others and encourage them on their own journey. I speak about what I have encountered on my journey to spiritual health, physical health, mental health, and emotional health.
When I was young, I lost my power and therefore my identity. For years, I lived an undisciplined life. I indulged in food, television, books and all sorts of other unhealthy pleasures. I worked excessive hours, neglected rest and had no real control over my life, my emotions, my thoughts, or my actions. By 2016, my life hit critical mass. I was completely overweight, highly stressed, unbalanced, and depressed. So I did what everyone does, I joined a gym. However, I had no motivation and no consistency. So for that entire year, I exercised with one purpose in mind, to create the habit of making exercise part of my daily life.
The end result, I became consistent and fell in love with movement. I found my strength and my power through my journey to physical fitness. I learned how to move and to create movement in my life. I discovered that I could do things that I never thought were possible. In essence, I became holistically healthy by losing physical weight, mental weight, spiritual weight, emotional weight and financial weight and in the process discovered a power I didn't know was within me.
Fast-forward to today and I have found life. Through exercise I engage others to move and to take the journey to the other side and recover their power. And I have fun doing it!
When I started my journey, I had no clue. I just knew that I was in a bad place in my mind, my body and my soul. I had no clue what to do. I was clueless on the power of nutrition, and not just as it relates to eating. I had no concept of emotional intelligence. I was brainwashed by religion and my mental stability was questionable, even on my best days. I needed help but I didn't know where to start. So for years, I continued in a destructive pattern of trying to figure things out on my own.
Hiring a coach changed my life. It helped me redirect my focus. We focused on me and what I needed to be my best. I learned fundamental principles and skills that could be universally applied to every aspect of my life.
As a coach, and in particular, as a Precision Nutrition Certified Coach, I teach what I have learned. I listen, and I help women discover the next step. We create a plan that will help them reach their goals in a way that is best for them. I provide nutrition and life coaching focused on changing and developing daily behavioral skills thereby creating healthy balanced lives.
One of my superpowers is I am a motivator. As a survivor of sexual abuse, I am passionate about healing and empowerment through mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical health. To find your passion, find your struggle. You go through, what you come to. I believe in the power of life. I believe in the power of words. I believe in the power of hope. I believe that true healing comes from knowledge and understanding. If you can get the wisdom and you can apply it to ultimately get an understanding, you can heal yourself. You can create within your life. You can reach limits far beyond anything you can imagine.
In December 2022, I created NexLevel. Since its initial creation, my team and I have launched NexLevel Magazine, NexLevel Podcast, and NexLevel Conversations, all designed for the essential woman who feels stuck, depressed, overlooked, neglected, and depleted and is ready to live life on the next level. NexLevel was created to encourage and inspire women to take action in their lives. We share stories, inspiration, and practical strategies to guide women from a life of chaos to balance and give them a safe community to break their silence and grow in change.
I am always into something.
